Your AWS platform evaluated by an official AWS Well-Architected Partner
Caleidos is an official AWS Well-Architected Partner — authorized by AWS to execute formal WARs. 3 packages (Essentials, Full, Plus), HRI/MRI methodology, AWS credits for remediation. Documented cases with up to 30% savings post-WAR.
The AWS Well-Architected Framework is AWS's official standard for evaluating cloud architecture quality. Caleidos is an official AWS Well-Architected Partner — authorized by AWS to execute formal Reviews (not 'internal-criteria audits' as others do). We work with HRI (High Risk Issues) and MRI (Medium Risk Issues) methodology, deliver a prioritized improvement plan and, depending on the package, directly execute the remediation of HRI. Industry data sustains the investment: 50% of IT projects with architecture issues exceed budget (Standish Group); 70% of IT time goes to maintenance vs innovation (Data Warehousing Institute); 81% of enterprises consider agility key (McKinsey). We have anchor cases with up to 30% savings post-WAR and CTO testimonials in the case studies section.
What you get with Caleidos
Official AWS Well-Architected Partner
Caleidos is authorized by AWS within the Well-Architected Partner Program. The reports we issue are formal, auditable and eligible for AWS remediation credits. Real differentiator versus competitors who "audit at internal criteria".
3 packages tailored to scope
WAR Essentials covers 3 pillars (Operational Excellence, Security, Cost Optimization). WAR Full adds Reliability (4 pillars). WAR Plus is Full + a dedicated hours bag for remediation of HRI defined in the report. You choose based on need and maturity.
HRI / MRI methodology
Structured identification of High Risk Issues (significant impact on enterprise, assets or people) and Medium Risk Issues. The work plan includes resolution of 45% of HRI executable in the short term. Actionable focus, not theoretical lists.
Documented results
30% savings on infrastructure costs, closure of critical security gaps and a scalable, robust platform. CTO testimonials available in the case studies section.
How we work
Diagnostic workshop (2-4 hours)
Session with your technical team and stakeholders of the workload to evaluate. We walk through the pillars with the official AWS Well-Architected Tool questionnaires and validate against real architecture.
HRI and MRI identification
We document High Risk Issues (significant risk) and Medium Risk Issues (moderate risk) detected in each pillar. We prioritize by business impact and resolution effort.
Actionable work plan
Remediation roadmap with resolution of 45% of HRI executable in the short term, separated from those requiring a major project. Each item with suggested owner, estimated effort and dependencies.
Presentation session (2 hours)
Results report to the technical and executive committee, detailed remediation plan and next steps. Formal deliverable backed by AWS Well-Architected Partner status.
Included remediation (Plus package)
For WAR Plus: dedicated 30-hour bag to execute resolution of HRI defined in the report. We turn findings into tangible improvements within the same engagement.
Wally / Culqi
30% cost reduction · CTO testimonial
Textual testimonial from José Manuel Trigoso (CTO Wally/Culqi): 'The Well Architected Review we executed with Caleidos allowed us to identify several improvement opportunities in the management of our infrastructure. With this information we were able to optimize infrastructure costs, close critical security gaps and apply best practices to have a much more scalable and robust platform.' Result: 30% savings documented.

What we get asked the most
What is a Well-Architected Review exactly?
A formal evaluation of your AWS architecture against the pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework (Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization and Sustainability). Result: prioritized list of gaps with HRI (High Risk Issues) and MRI (Medium Risk Issues) methodology and an actionable remediation plan. It's the closest thing to an official AWS audit that exists.
What does it mean that Caleidos is an official AWS Well-Architected Partner?
It means Caleidos is accredited within the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program to execute formal WARs. The reports we issue are AWS-backed, eligible for AWS remediation credits and auditable. A real differentiator versus competitors who audit on internal criteria without official recognition.
What are the 3 WAR packages?
WAR Essentials covers 3 pillars: Operational Excellence, Security and Cost Optimization. WAR Full adds the Reliability pillar to reach 4 pillars. WAR Plus is WAR Full plus a dedicated 30-hour bag to execute remediation of HRI defined in the report. Choice depends on platform maturity and the level of remediation support you expect.
What are HRI and MRI?
HRI (High Risk Issues): architecture or operational findings with significant negative impact on the enterprise, assets or people — critical risks to address as a priority. MRI (Medium Risk Issues): similar findings but of moderate magnitude. The methodology is AWS standard and lets you prioritize remediation with objective criteria. The work plan includes resolution of the 45% of HRI executable in the short term.
How long does a WAR take?
A standard WAR for a mid-size workload: 2-3 weeks across workshop, HRI/MRI identification, work plan and results presentation. For organizations with several workloads (5-10) we scale the calendar or split into waves. The Plus package extends the engagement with the 30 hours of remediation.
Who participates from your side?
Ideally: CTO or tech lead, someone from DevOps/SRE, someone from Security, and the owner of the workload evaluated. Sessions are 2-4 hours, spaced out, with no full-time team commitment required.
How much does a WAR cost?
Scope and investment are defined with you after understanding your context: number of workloads, package chosen (Essentials, Full or Plus), level of remediation support. AWS grants credits for WARs of eligible clients that help fund the assessment. Let's have a conversation to put together a tailored proposal.
Is it necessary for my company?
If you have more than 1 productive workload on AWS and have not done a formal WAR, highly recommended. For regulated enterprises (FSI, healthcare) practically mandatory to sustain compliance. For growing enterprises, the WAR detects significant cost optimization opportunities — we have documented cases with up to 30% savings identified.
